SPONSORING YOUNG PEOPLE TO HELP IN THE DEVELOPING WORLD

Each year we give a bursary to a number of young people going overseas in their gap year. We favour requests from those in the North of Scotland, but applications are welcome from anywhere in the UK. Preference is given to those doing hands-on work such as building a school, helping in dental clinics, improving local water supply, to mention recent successful applications.

Funds are limited so please apply early, certainly by January, if you are going overseas at the end of the academic year. Bursaries are given subject to our receiving a brief report with illustration.

We also have a Student of the Year Award. First prize of £1,000 is given to the student who writes the best report with two or three photographs of what they have achieved in their gap year.
